Fort Randall Dam
The Fort Randall Dam and the Missouri River are located 1.9 miles from Pickstown. The river provides excellent water sports including water skiing, boating, and sailing, along with fishing.
On the bank of the Missouri River immediately below the Fort Randall Dam, hours can be spent peacefully watching the water flow, observing the animals and birds that frequent the area and enjoying the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding shoreline. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers began building the dam in 1946 and started generating electricity in 1954.
Annual Kayak Race
Named for the Fort Randall Dam where it begins, as well as Springfield, S.D., the site of its finish line, the Fort to Field 50 began in 2014 and hosts paddlers from across North America.
Randall Hills Country Club
Randall Hills Country Club is located in Pickstown, SD near the Ft. Randall Dam on the Missouri River. We offer a nine-hole golf course, practice green, and driving range. The course is open to the public. We have a lounge and restaurant. With golf cart rentals, we'll even help you get from hole to Club in quick fashion.
